What is this Buzz about Honey Bees?

As one of the most prolific pollinators in the world, it contributes to 1/3 of our food supply. Since they are biologically and behaviorally designed to cross-pollinate, they are amazingly efficient and proficient at it. When honeybees forage for pollen, they collect granules with their fine hair. During pollination, some granules fall off as they are bound from one flower to another, causing pollination. Their foraging trips are ” species-specific,” which means they visit only the same type of flower until that nectar source is over. Pollination occurs because pollen is transferred between flowers of the same type.
